THE SEVENTH DAWN-LETTERMEN/Capitol Records

Seen this movie almost 4x when I was a kid and I began to like the movies of William Holden, like "The Bridge Of The River Kwai." But it was Charlton Heston who dominated the big screen with all his epic saga movies such as "El Cid", "Ben-Hur", "Khartoum", 55 Days At Peking", "Major Dundee","Soylent Green", "Omega Man", "Planet Of The Apes" and "The Ten Commandments." At that time the Philippine airwaves are dominated by Elvis Presley,The Beatles (Rock and Roll) and The Lettermen with all their mellow hits including this piece of inspirational song. Although this is not the original soundtrack of the movie, I decided to incorporate the sounds of the Lettermen to this unforgettable war movie of 1964 because in my own belief, it was tailor fit with the said movie that happened in Southeast Asia after World war II.
Great are those days, that you even go to movie house in Paete just saying "I need to get back in there, I wasn't able to finish the movie last night." or sometimes you will reason out, you'll just look for your mother who's inside the theater that night. And it always happened when there are problems with the projector, everybody will shout out: "Andres, give us our money back. How many times have we told you not to sleep during work time!"
That's how we get back to our past, that's how easy life is before. Gone are those days when we just paid 5 pesos for 2 movies (English/Tagalog). Now. 160 pesos for "Transformer 2" movies, which surely cost a lot. What more if you watch it on IMAX with the rest of your family to watch it with you? P2,000 is not enough, not to mention taking them some place else to eat after. That's probably one of the reasons why reliving the past feels so good. How about you? Will you ever wonder if the good old days will be with you always? Well, just get an mp3 or a cd of your past favorites and play it along with you. Somehow, you can go back to memory lanes, go back with The Lettermen love songs and feel at peace with the world. Try it.

Medley: Goin' Out Of My Head/Can't take My Eyes Off You-Lettermen/Capitol Records

Late 1967, The Lettermen brought about, on a 'LIVE' Album, perhaps the group'a most loved and requested hit : the Medley of 'Goin' Out Of My Head / Can't Take My Eyes Off You.' Requested by SACKS, an Ole Navy Vet from Atlanta. Hope you'll enjoy it, Sir!

I am in Grade 5 (Section 10), when this bouncy and lovely song hits the airwaves in 1968. It was the time I was emerged as one of the fastest runner of Paete Elementary School, along with Elesio Palatino (a dear friend). The said school was donated by the late Don Alejandro Roces, father of the late Don Ramon Roces who later became my saviour, my mentor and my future due to a long time stint with FUNNY KOMIKS for CHILDREN. At that time, I'm just a mere listener of the 60's music, I've heard a lot of The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five, The Cascades, Gary Lewis and The Playboys, The Monkees, The Brothers Four, The Bee Gees (to name a few) and so on. I've seen a lot of the Fav 4 movies such as 'A Hard Day's Night', Yellow Submarine' and 'Help!'. Even The Monkees had their own movies which featured all their hit songs such as, 'Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter', but not a single movie of The Lettermen. I had no particular favorite song at that time of years, but I'm hearing Lettermen's 'I Will Love You', 'Warm', 'I Love How You Love Me' and 'The Wonder Of You.' almost simultaneously in AM Radio Stations especially at midnight. I'd like to sleep along with the songs of that era, mild, mellow, sweet and full of meaning. That made the baby boomers generation more compassionate, more obedient than today's youth. Will the song of each era can really build a man's mindset? The more lovely the song is, the more mellow your human outcome will be. And that's what I am with me today. And I'm proud of my era, my generation and my choose of music!

MEDLEY: PILIPINO LOVE SONGS-LETTERMEN

Relive the glory days of great Filipino music with the unique interpretation of fabulous group singers known as The Lettermen as they sing to all Filipinos the rare classics of the golden years.Dedicated to all Filipinos who sing along with the group since day one of 1959.

MABUHAY!!!

It's in 1974, when The Lettermen sung their first OPM at the FAT when The Miss Universe Beauty Pageant was held in the Philippines. The time Miss Amparo Munoz judged as The Most Beautiful Girl In The World." I remember them singing this song to all the contestant standing in the stage, followed by the song "Top Of The World." It was the composition of the 3rd generation Lettermen, composed of Tony, Donny and Gary. The OPM "Dahil Sa Iyo" top the chart in Philippine Music Industry and became favorites in all radio stations in the country. The enormous selling lead the 45rpm to a Gold Label and instantly hit the Platinum Record for a short span of time. This pave the way for another instant OPM hit, "Ikaw" and "Sapagkat Kami Ay Tao Lamang." For almost 5 decades, the group constantly add the Pinoy Love Songs to all their concerts especially if Filipino audiences are on the crowds. This is somehow made them a foreign group with Filipino spirits, as they sung all the hit songs with all their hearts, soul and mind. They are indeed to be recognized as naturalized Filipinos, the way they popularized our own songs all throughout the world. Paging, Manny Pacquiao---The Lettermen can sing the Philippine National Anthem, the way the composer and all of us Filipinos wants our National Hymn to be sung. Just give them a leeway of rehearsing the song and they will give justice to it. The way they're recognized as the best singing group to sing America's Star Spangled Banner National Anthem. I hope the group will sing for you on your coming fight with Miguel Cotto. What d'ya think?

I LOVE HOW YOU LOVE ME-LETTERMEN/Capitol Records

Dedicated to my loving wife, Maribel Lim Dayo and to Ms. xisanadu, who requested a video montage of one of my favorite song "I Love How You Love Me" by The LETTERMEN. Some pictures are taken at the Sultanate Of Oman, when I worked as a Graphic Artist in Al-Bayan Establishment, owned by His Excelency,Abdullah Ahmed Al-Ghazali. My regards to my former employer and thanks also to Mr. Salim Alawi Al-Ghazali and Mr. Abdul Tawab. You're all great people!

Remember the song that made us fall in love even in early age, when the expression compared to how the wind blows like saying; "Hi, how are you?" When at night you'll go strolling the streets of Paete and one full stop will be somewhere in Bagumbayan where she lives near the school. Just standing by the outdoors and when someone goes out, you would immediately hide from someone whom you eventually wanted to see. Anyway, why is like that? Am I not good enough or do I simply lack confidence. What matters most is that I did get to see her on school days, from Grade 1 to 5, we're classmates. Unfortunately, I'm not popular in my Grade 5 teacher and the result is a separation between me and her. I was in section 2 in Grade 6 and she remained the number one pupil in Section 1. We graduated the year 1969 (when this song goes too popular) and she's the school Valedictorian, while I'll take 2nd Honor in our class. It feels good to remember those good old days. It's simple back then, so simple like the song in here...so romantic, so elegant, so Lettermen!

I WILL LOVE YOU-LETTERMEN/Capitol Records

My most favorite song of The Lettermen in the 60's. Included in the album "Jim, Tony & Bob". Reminisce the past decade of serenading beautiful lass in Paete, Laguna. When everything in life and in love is so simple, when puppy love and secret love is up in the air with gusto. Remember the good old days of trying to join a singing contest as a singing group to sing this beautiful sentimental love song, but in the end will not meet the final list of deadline on time. Just remember, when time of passing by to the house of your secret love is just enough to make oneself happy. Those are the good old days and the good old days will stay with this kind of deep, sincere, inspirational song of the greatest singing trio of the world...THE LETTERMEN!
